Person who will develop new business solutions for the company as well as perform maintenance on existing systems.
The candidate should be strong in existing Microsoft and Linux technologies, and be willing to expand his/her skill set as the situation dictates.
PRINCIPAL SKILLS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proficient in the following technologies, ranked in order of importance:
- ASP
- Ability to create and maintain asp web pages and applications
- Good working knowledge of the ASP class libraries available
- Good working knowledge of HTML/DHTML for web page layout and presentation.
- Ability to position embedded objects such as flash .swfs in a web page, either static or dynamically
- C# and ASP.NET
- C# language, ASP.NET libraries and functions. All .NET development will be done in the C# language.
- ASP.NET on Linux using Mono/XSP
- JavaScript
- Ability to write and maintain client side javascript code used for user input validation, program notifications, application navigation
- Databases (including basic administration)
- SQL Server
- MySQL
- Postgres
- Oracle (knowledge a plus, but not required)
- Java (knowledge a plus, but not required)
- J2EE
- JavaBeans
- Struts
- JSP
- Tomcat
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Fluent English
- Ability to communicate with non technical people when needed
- Ability to explain issues and roadblocks clearly with other team
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via telephone, email, and IM in a virtual team environment
- Works well in team environment, including virtual teams.
- Ability to maintain code written by other developers who may or may not still be with the company
- Self motivated, requiring minimal direct supervision.
- Good problem solving skills
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot production issues
- Motivation to resolve issues without being specifically directed to do so
- Ability to fix problems with other developer's code without performing complete rewrite
- Ability to handle several projects concurrently, shifting work as priorities change or come into focus
- Ability to work flexible schedule, depending on the needs of the current project
- Willing to learn new skills and technologies
