The office of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine is seeking a qualified and motivated person to fill the position of:
Media Lawyer
Tasks:
• Work with the Mass Media Experts
• Provide legal support to Democratization section on media legislation
• Head relevant working groups on media legislative reform
• Manage project activities
• Develop terms of references for experts and researchers
• Write analytical notes and reports in English and Ukrainian
• Write project proposals in English and Ukrainian on further improvement of media legislation in Ukraine
• Monitor changes in Ukraine’s media legislation
• Translate documents (English, Ukrainian, Russian)
• Coordinate related activities together with other relevant actors
• Monitor project activities including national and international travel
• Administrative duties
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Higher education in legal studies;
• Expertise in media law and experience in working with mass media;
• Knowledge of Ukrainian and European media legislation with experience in legal advice;
• Awareness of problems existing in Ukraine’s media environment;
• Work experience in fields related to media legislation;
• Experience in monitoring activities and economic performance of grant receivers;
• Experience in organizing seminars/workshops;
• Knowledge of the relevant actors in Ukraine;
• Experience in office administration and PC Skill;s
• Analytical skills, organizational skills; good personal skills;
• Fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian, English, and Russian.
