Vacancy: 10 Application Engineers (Sco), PhD (m/f)
Company: World leader in the manufacture of advanced technology systems for the semiconductor industry.
Department: Applications & Business Support (ABS) within the Customer Support (CS) organization.
Reporting to/hierarchy: The related Group Leader.
Function details: The ABS department consists of 3 Groups: Imaging, Overlay & Focus and New Business Development & Productivity; you will work within 1 of these 3 Groups. As Application Engineer the main focus is full responsibility for effective and efficient implementation and optimal use of lithography systems (average value = 16*106 EUR) for electronic Integrated Circuits (IC) production at customer production sites.
Expectations for this role include:
Together with your colleagues, deliver best-in-class customer satisfaction for customers.
Next to engineering, you have a consultancy role towards customers so not only your technology knowledge is addressed but also your consultancy skills will be tested.
As a highly motivated and well-trained engineer you work closely with customers and research and development.
You analyze most complex problems by introducing advanced analysis tools and using know how and expertise to improve the customer production process.
On a daily basis you support local colleagues (from first and second line support) at customer sites.
Within projects you set customer requirements and review future designs.
Once available, you field test new products and functionalities at customer sites on ‘on chip’ performance and user friendliness.
Continuous development of your technical expertise and personal skills is essential.
Stay for a minimum of 5 (3 for Group New Business Development & Productivity) years in this job.
Education and qualifications:
PhD, or equivalent by experience, in (applied) physics, electronics, electro-techniques or (laser) optics.
Experience in an IC design and/or manufacturing environment is a plus.

Fluent in English, both oral and in writing.
Any other language is a plus.
Mobility/travel:
Up to 30% travelling (for Groups Imaging and Overlay & Focus).
Up to 70% travelling (for Group New Business Development & Productivity).
